Victor M692S Sonic PestChaser Wall Unit, Pack of 2
Description:
No messy traps to empty, no disease-ridden dead rodents to dispose - this is a safe, economical and effective method of rodent control. The Victor Sonic PestChaser wall unit emits high frequency sound waves that effectively repel rodents from protected areas. For use in average-sized rooms, kitchens, garages, attics and basements.) This single unit plugs directly into the wall outlet. The sound is completely inaudible to people and non-rodent pets. Varying intensity and frequencies of ultrasonic sound waves prevents rodents from getting used to the Victor Sonic PestChaser. Since the sound is inaudible, a red LED light tells you the unit is working properly. It's kinder than mouse traps, safer than poisons, and there are no dead rodents to dispose of so it minimizes human contact with mice, rats, and other disease-bearing rodents. Reduction in rodent activity should occur within 6-10 days. Estimated service life of the unit is 5-7 years or more. Note: Ultrasonic sound cannot penetrate furniture, cabinets or walls. Multiple units required for multiple rooms.

Mr Mouse has left the building:o)Nov 18, 2009
By M. Chauppetta I bought this item out of sheer desparation. After baiting this mouse with poison and peanut butter traps for approximately one month to no avail. I would sit up at night listening to this rodent chewing at my walls just waiting for it to eat its way out! CREEPY!!! I bought 2 packs of the Vicks electronic pest repellers (4 devices total) and within 2 weeks, no more chewing/scratching noises. Thank God----my rodent is gone. I know that the package says that the sound wave do not penetrate the walls, but I believe that they do because my little mouse friend is GONE! I would definitely recommend this product. To order, go through [...] in the Home and garden section.

Something Changed!Nov 25, 2011
By Mary Beatley I have used this product for years with wonderful success- got rid of mice in my kitchen years ago and they have never come back. So, in spite of the negative comments about them being noisy, I ordered more. Well the reviewers are correct! Something has changed in the manufacturing of the products because they now do make a lot of noise, and you have to unplug them after about 3 minutes. I am so disappointed because I have told so many of my friends about them and have used them all around the house, which has remained rodent free until recently when I heard some gnawing sounds in the den. I ordered some new ones but could not tolerate that loud humming noise. So I moved an old one from a different part of the house to the den, and within 10 minutes the nasty little creature stopped gnawing and left, and has not returned. Please manufacturer- go back to your old way of making these things so we can buy them again! They were a life saver but now they are just a nuisance!

Useless waste of moneyAug 03, 2011

I bought 4 of the Victor® Kill & Seal Hygienic Mouse Traps, along with the Victor® Sonic Mini PestChaser® Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent Both of them absolutely useless. I set up 4 traps and put 2 of the ultrasonics in diffrent parts of my kitchen. I wake up to find the food eaten out of ALL the traps. One was set right next to the ultrasonic repellent,(just to see what would happen). They probably sat under it and had a peanut butter party. laughing the whole time!

success may depend on how you use themDec 28, 2011
By Snapperblue I have found these to work well. Remember that the sound does not penetrate solid objects, so the area covered is basically "line of sight" with some bouncing off the walls. The waves won't enter closed cupboards, go around corners, or reach spaces behind furniture or under appliances. They don't work outside.
These units work best at convincing newly-arrived mice that they do not want to live in your house. With an established population of mice in the house, the manufacturer recommends trapping current residents- they have established their territory and it is harder to dislodge them than to deter newcomers from settling.
The sound makes the area uncomfortable for mice, but if the area is otherwise attractive, the mice may stay. You may have to put food in glass or metal canisters or store in the refrigerator, at least until the area is mouse-free. Clean up all the crumbs. Learn how to trap!
Once our resident mice were gone (or deceased!), these units really helped keep our cabin free of mice all winter. Before using the ultrasonic repellers, I had to cope with droppings in the bathtub (they love the soap), on kitchen counters, on furniture, in bedding- really disgusting- every weekend and in the spring.
Four stars because sometimes- not always- they make an irritating sound.

The rats are gone!Sep 21, 2011

30 years ago we moved to a house in the rural part of the SF Peninsula. Nice with deer, racoons, foxes and other wildlife on our property. We also found, however, that rats loved to come into the nice big screen room on our deck and take up residence in the big stuffed sofa we have out there. It was terrible, with rat droppings and urine stains inside and under the sofa. I even found rats that had died in the sofa! Yuk! Over the years I tried trapping them (spring-type rat traps and then the rat-zapper type), but even though I killed a lot of them, more kept coming. I then tried various repellants (mountain lion urine, peppermint fragrance sprays, bags of supposedly rodent repelling herbs), but all to no avail. Then six months ago I installed two of these Victor ultrasonic pest chasers behind the sofa and ... NO MORE RATS! I've even left pieces of potato chips behind the sofa as a test and they stay there uneaten, so I know the rats are really gone. I only wish I'd tried these sonic devices years ago.
