Great for travelFeb 26, 2013
By Wanda A. I am a believer in Neutrogena. I use these towelettes and their face scrub- two of my favorite face cleaning products on the market. These are quick and convenient- very handy to take with you on vacation, especially if you're flying! I can use them with ease even on my thick, heavy mascara! Comes off like a charm. If you use it too much and have dry skin, you will be a little irritated though. It does contain some drying agents so be aware and prepared for that.
If you have that problem, toner is a great way to combat it. Not alcohol based toner though!! That will dry you out worse. I've found my best results to be with a scented rose petal toner that contains aloe vera -Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner with Aloe Vera + FREE Retinol Cream. Aloe vera = moisture = no dry skin. Plus it not only does using toner help with removing make up, it actually clears beneath the surface too!!

They simply work.Nov 30, 2007
By The Mighty Xtingu I travel for a living, and schlepping my skin-care products through TSA security lines can be a hassle. Enter the Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Towelettes!
In a nutshell: These things simply work. They're pre-moistened so you don't need water, and they take off your makeup in one shot-- waterproof mascara and eternal-wear lipstick, too. No scrubbing, no irritation; only happy, soft skin.
Best of all: These contain moisturizers so your skin isn't all tight, but they don't leave your skin feeling like an Exxon Valdez victim either.
This specific product is the refill pack, which would (hypothetically) be placed into a plastic blue vanity box in your bathroom... though, for my purposes, tossing this resealable pack into my suitcase is just fine.

Doesn't irritate my RosaceaOct 27, 2012
By Kristy Anderson I have tried all the cleansing cloths on the market, and nothing compares to these. I have very sensitive skin, and Rosacea, and these actually cool my face off instead of burning it like most other wipes. I use the night calming at all times of day (I guess they are marketed for night because of the lavender?). I've tried the original, and the moisturizing kind, and both are OK, but they do make my face burn a little. These are more expensive than other kinds, but in my opinion, they seem larger, softer, and hold more cleanser, so I don't have to use more than one at a time. I hope they don't stop selling them now that I admitted to loving them!

Gets everything offFeb 16, 2007

I haven't tried many make-up removers before, I usually just go with soap and water. These weren't too bad. They removed all my make-up, including mascara and eyeliner. I didn't get that raccoon look that you usually get when you try to remove mascara, which was great.
The packs are resealable which is nice, it keeps the towelettes moist. The thing I didn't like about them was as another reviewer remarked, they do leave a slight film on your face. An almost greasy feeling. Also, if I got any of it in my eyes, they would slightly burn.
I always did a thorough rinse with water after using them, which took the residue off, but the fact that it left the residue (and slightly irritated my eyes), is what made me give this product 3 stars.

Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup remover: gets the first layer offApr 17, 2013

In the past, I always thought that makeup remover towelettes worked great. Sometimes I need to use two if I have on a lot of makeup, but I still thought my face was getting clean. Then I got a Clarisonic Aria for facial cleansing.
Even if I use two of these wipes, there is *still* makeup on my face; this is evidenced by how much makeup I find in the Clarisonic brush after cleaning my face. Usually I use the makeup wipes then cleanse with the Clarisonic. When I first got the Aria, I was shocked how much makeup was left on my skin even though it looked clean.
Like my headline says: it gets the first layer off, but I have found that you need to do additional cleansing to really get your face clean. However, it does leave your skin feeling moisturized and not dried out, which is a big plus.
I also found these are good for days you are not wearing makeup, and just want to do a quick face cleaning before going to bed after a very long tiring day.
It's my opinion that most makeup towelettes are not getting all the makeup off, not just this brand. Just don't depend on makeup towelettes to do all the work!
