This book was very helpful:
Pros:
1. Good tricks and great samples with explanation
2. Comes with 2 audio CDs which are very useful for listening
3. Comes with a CD with 4 full-length practice tests similar to the real exam. You must practice those
Cons:
1. Frequent repetition of most tips and hints. Without that, the book could be smaller and easier to follow
2. The speaking section was very weak. This can be solved by adding speaking samples to the audio CDs

I think this is one of the best TOEFL preparation books. Official guide is a must have, but this one is a great addition. It has nice explanations, that can be repetitive sometimes and which can be skimmed through (just read the text in bold), but important part it has 4(!) practice tests, more than any other book. The software works great on my MacOSX. It is timed and resembles the real test. I can look through my Reading and Listening results, and they give explicit explanations why other choices are incorrect. I like Speaking section a lot. I can compare my response with samples of high, mid or low level responses for each question. I liked this part the most, you can hear high level responses from non native speakers. Also, Writing section gives samples for each question. Plus, it has lots of practice tests in the book itself and 2 additional CDs with audio files to them. I think this Kaplan did a great job with this book.

I've used this book as my only resource in preparing for TOEFL. Practice tests are especially helpful. They let you get a real feel for the actual test. The book also covers explanation and practice tests for each of TOEFL's four sections.
I especially found the section on speaking very helpful. There is a list of topics you could probably get on the first two questions of speaking.

The CD ROM is not compatible to the Windows Vista.If you have Vista you can not run this CD at all and can not prepare for the test.The Windows Vista is already ouf for more that 2.5 years and the CD ROM is not compatible to the Vista.

It is the best book out there for TOEFL IBT test. The CD helped out with speaking and listening. Even the title for writing is in my test. Wow ! they did a great job to prepare you. That's for sure !
