A Must Read!Mar 23, 2011
By D. Adams A History of Modern Psychology
This book offers a comprehensive view into the world of modern psychology. As you read it, you will discover that learning about psychology's past paves the way for understanding psychology's present contribution to humanity. As you read about some of psychology's past and present contributors, you will come to see that they were and are very much like every one of us. You will read about their trials and tribulations in life - as well as - the many contributions they have made in the study of human and animal behavior. This book also offers as a compliment to the reading an online Study Guide, which is an excellent source of information that contributes to a better understanding of the material in the text. I highly recommend that this book be used for those who have an interest in the history of modern psychology.

Required reading can be a delight!Aug 23, 2010

"It's a beautiful day!"
The course "History and Systems of Psychology" seemed less-than-thrilling and I was prepared to be bored out of my mind. For psych majors, however, it is a wonderful class and this book is pleasant reading material. It's easy to understand, full of cool tidbits, and surprisingly fun. It's one of the few textbooks I regret selling back - now I have to purchase it again (because it's worth it).

Not very interesting textApr 26, 2013
By Scotti Veale I ordered this book as a supplemental resource for a class I was teaching. My students and I agreed that the text was boring.
not so modernDec 15, 2012
By Guillermo Arriaga not so modern, it is mostly the beginnings of psychology. I was expecting more recent developments. Otherwise it is ok.
