GONE AT ZERO HUNDRED 00:00 is a gritty, YA action-thriller series featuring the McSwain & Beck duo. The second book in the series, FIREWORKS ON THE 4TH, was just published.

***"High-octane, action packed and quick-witted romp through the perilous underworld. Written in a vein similar to early James Patterson (his good stuff) the chapters are short and make you want to gobble them down."
~~ Goodreads Reviewer

***"WARNING...when starting this book make sure you don't have anywhere you need to be or anything you need to do because you WON'T want to stop reading!! Trust me on this! The book starts off with an explosive, unforgettable beginning and just keeps going. The characters of Syd and Cody were a perfect pair...funny, smart, snarky...they totally need their own TV series!"

5An Action-Packed, Thrill Ride!Apr 12, 2012

Gone at Zero Hundred Packs Some Major Torque! I was blown away by this complex, high-octane thriller. The non-stop action of this impeccable mystery made it impossible for me to stop reading. I was amused, enticed and engrossed with the sexy, sassy, smart-ass sleuths McSwain & Beck. They're intelligent, raw and realistic.

McSwain & Beck are drawn into a freakish murder-mystery, where they are compelled to uncover the truth at any cost. Their target is a sickening gang of relentless killers. They are placed in highly dangerous scenarios, cat and mouse chases, not to mention dealing with devilish drug dealers, who are so disgusting I wanted to light them on fire with a flamethrower and watch them burn.

CR Hiatt is an incredibly detailed writer. ALL the characters are thoroughly described down to each and every idiosyncrasy. I look forward to the second installment of the McSwain & Beck series and hope someone is smart enough to make this thrilling story into a movie. The author has an incredible gift of keeping the reader engaged. I highly recommend Gone at Zero Hundred. It's an entertaining read by an amazing author.

3YA Action/Adventure/SuspenseJun 17, 2012

I read this book as part of a blog tour hosted by Reading Addiction Blog Tours for C.R. Hiatt. I first agreed to do it because I love a good mystery and adventure. This book did deliver such a story. This book kept the pace and was a quick read. The chapters are quick and not too long, making the story fly by. The mystery and plot was developed very well. A lot is going on, but the author does tie it up nicely at the end. However, she doesn't finish everything in the end as there is a follow up book.
Sydney and Cody are the main characters. They are great friends and work well together. Their personal interests combine very well throughout the story. Another character I did enjoy was Detective Carter. He was the comfort of the law enforcement side to the entire story. I enjoyed his character so much I hope we see him in the next book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was a great story. Plenty of action and suspense on every page. And a reminder...not everything is wrapped up because there is a second book to be published soon.

4Action packed!Jun 17, 2012

What a rollercoaster of a book!! I was GLUED to it!! The two main characters are thrown into a murder-mystery. The chapters are not too long, so it was an easy read. I was a bit skeptical, as it's listed as a YA book, but I was very happy with the content! Hence, don't judge a book by it's cover! So if YA isn't your cup of tea, but you like murder-mystery and lots of action, you just may want to give this book a try! I can't wait for the second book to come out. I may even have my teenage son read Gone at Zero Hundred.

The characters and the story line were very well thought out and really flowed with the book. This book would make an awesome movie! I can't wait to read more from C.R. Hiatt!!

5HIGH OCTANE ADVENTURE!Aug 06, 2012
By Douglas W. Wickard "Douglas Wickard"
Did you ever want to be transported away from the stress...the day-to-day...the mundane and just get kidnapped into a wonderful, wild, youthful world of sleuths and detectives and coming of age? If you answered yes to all of these questions, DO NOT HESITATE TO DOWNLOAD THIS AMAZING BOOK. I JUST DID! I read it everywhere...getting my car washed, getting my hair cut, getting my pedicure (I know, I'm a guy, but gals dig this)... I could not stop reading! And, what made it SO mesmerizing was Sydney! Her metamorphosis from a young tomboy girl under the tutelage of a single-strong mother, to the uprising of self-matured heroine is breathtaking, subtle and heartfelt. Bravo! The writing team of McSwain and Beck are responsible for this beautiful, touching transformation! Cody! Okay! He's hot, fiercely hot and the chemistry between the two as friends, best friends and the innocent trickle of `better' friends keeps the heart cursor blinking... maybe not in this book, but definelty...to be continued...HOT!! I loved it. So will you. Don't forget there is more than enough mystery and clues and mayhem to keep even the most ardent mystery reader's piqued interest...but it wouldn't be worth half the ride without these incredibly LOVABLE characters. Oh, and don't forget Carter! He deserves a heartfelt plug! Can't wait for the sequel!! 5 stars on my Richter scale! Now, I'm gone in less than sixty seconds...or I'll self-destruct!

4Thrilling ReadJul 07, 2012

I picked this book up thinking I could use a good adventure. The cover, the title, the synopsis all lead to an adventure and I got an adventure. This book was thrilling, exciting, and full of action, mystery, and attitude.

The story revolves around a girl, Sydney McSwain, and her best friend, Cody Beck. After graduation when tragedy strikes, they decide to take over her mother's private eye business. This decision leads to them getting chased, beat up, and shot at, not to mention they solve the big mystery and bring the baddies down. Sounds like so much fun.

Sydney is an amazing heroine. She is very snarky, which I love, very independent, courageous, cunning, and very sneaky. Her mother taught her well in the business and she starts off the business better than your average PI. Cody is sexy, funny, smart, and a real flirt. They make a very odd couple but their friendship works. They back and forth banter had me laughing out loud on many occasions.

Sydney and Cody are thrown into a mess of crime when their very first client walks in the door asking for surveillance detail on her step brother. Form that moment Sydney's life gets very interesting. In the process of staking out her target she stumbles on to some very heavy things and has to connect all the pieces. She and Cody never hesitate when it came to solving the mystery.

There were events in the story that were over the top but somehow it fit. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started the book. I have not read to many crime books. I am sure this will be the start of many as it was a blast to read. The story was really easy to get into. It's your average teens being kidnapped, breaking and entering, and murderous plot, but with the added bonus of McSwain and Beck. It was a fun ride and I really enjoyed reading this book. I look forward to the next installment.
